Are you confused by all of the conflicting tips that you get on golfing instruction. The great thing about the internet is that, yes you will get a varied opinion on understanding the golf swing or how to achieve a perfect golf swing but it does enable you to analyse the pros & cons of the opinions without spending a lot of hard earned cash going from one professional to another because the first guy didn't help and the second guy didn't' help etc.

I recall vividly a swing problem I had that was effecting my driver. About half of every drive I did went about 100 yards in distance but veered sharply left. It was never really explained to me what was exactly wrong with the swing but to counteract it, I was given a new grip, an extremely awkward grip. I presume that the instructor had worked out that I was closing the face of the club, so to counteract this, he made me twist my right hand to the right before gripping the club. By doing this when I got a hold of the club to swing it, my arm was so twisted to the right that it was impossible for me to close the face of the club.

The approach by this professional certainly cured my closed face problem but destroyed the rest of my golf game. I can recall the look of horror on some of my playing partners as my twisted arm tried to attempt to swing a golf club. I failed to understand what my original problem was and that professional had certainly failed also. I guess he was probably a bit of a cowboy. I had however' invested in a couple of lessons with him and many hours down the range so, I stuck with it for a time.

.As you can imagine my game really never improved. So, off I went to another professional. This guy did exactly the opposite but not so extreme so, this time I was twisting my hand to the right. I must admit that my game did improve rapidly with this grip but I then developed a tendency to slice the shots. Where I am coming from with this is that, here we have two local professionals, who appear to be giving out conflicting information. The good thing is that the second guy, I trusted and did have many lessons from him in the end. Both of theses professionals cost me a lot of money in fees and although the latter was thankfully better. Could I have sort advice elsewhere?

Thank god for the advent of the Internet. This was a medium where I could search the entire web to find out who else was suffering golf problems like me. I quickly ascertained that not only was it my grip but my address of the ball was also not quite correct. So, I developed my own way of learning and fixing my golf problems. I developed a comfortable way of playing by researching many people's opinion from the Internet. It has certainly been much cheaper than using my local club professional. He does look at me in bewilderment at times. I think he is trying to work out how this very poor golfer turned into a good golfer without his help.

I have found the tips and guides on golf that I have received from the internet have become invaluable. I would advise any new golfer or a troubled high handicapper to seek the advice of the internet. There is such varied advice on many of the problems you may have. You do not have to rely on the advice of just one person. If you have a problem compare the remedies that are given by many people who have been in your shoes, then go down the range try it, practice it. Yes, you will still get conflicting advice but you will not have paid a professional load's of cash and wasted many months on rubbish advice. You certainly do not have to continue with awful grips for instance out of loyalty to the club professional.
