If winter's not for you and your "sticks" are itching to be swung I've got the "ultimate golfers man cave" to tell you about. Under the guise of needing storage I ordered a large shed for my back yard. I made sure the hip style roof was high enough to swing a driver of course. I did have to move one ceiling joist - but it's still standing.

First you need a structure for your cave - I used a shed, but you're ahead of the game if you have a basement, garage, or unused room in your house.

Looking for golf tips and tricks to improve your swing? Keeping it simple, many say. But there are a few golf tips and tricks that you could consider if you really want to improve your swing.

The most important golf tip is from South Africa's very own champion golfer. Everybody is familiar with Gary Player's famous quote: "Golf is all about luck. The more you practice the luckier you get."

So don't be tempted to go straight to the course. First hit a few practice shots on the practice area. Not only will you get time to get your eye in, but you will also warm up your muscles and could prevent injury once you start playing.

Hitting from the same spot, will give a good of idea of your line, direction and speed, and will give you a better idea of what needs to be tweaked.

Although you might think it is a cliche, working on your rhythm and feel on a golf course remains very important.

Familiarize yourself with the golf course. If it is a course you play on often, you will already know some of its secrets.

Before you visit a new golf course, do visit the golf course's website, as many golf courses provide golf tips and tricks specific to the course.

Golf is all about pride. But sometimes it is worth putting your pride aside and pays for a golf lesson or two so that an expert can observe your specific golf style, and provide you with golf tips and tricks specific to your style.

And then it is back to the practice area!
